The tour has ended, we moved into a house, and we may
finally be able to get the car registered!!! The last week and a half has been absolutely crazy! I am so sorry that it has taken so long
to write to give an update. From
the last time I told yall about what was going on, we have gone to Punta Gorda
I believe as well as Corozal. So
if you look on a map, just look at the very, very tip of the country down south
(Punta Gorda). Then if you look at
a map and find the city very, very north…right next to Mexico, that is
Corozal. And we moved into a house
in Belmopan!
So originally we were not going to go to Punta Gorda. It was really far south and because
there were not that many pastors there that we knew, and thinking that it might
be harder for them to be able to go, we decided not to use the gas to go
there. After thinking about it, a
week later we though, why in the world would we not go there…”isn’t the idea to
bring people from all around the country together?” So we drove to Dangriga and were able to meet so many
incredible people. We met with so
many people, we wend on one road where every 10 minutes we were stopping to
talk to a Pastor! It was so
encouraging hearing responses about the conference and hearing peoples desire
to attend.
As we were heading back we also decided to stop by this
little village called Trio. It is
a small village that does not have much development. For example, it was just a year or two ago when they
received electricity and was able to stop using generators. Just picture yourself sitting in a
church, trying to listen to the Pastor giving a sermon and there is not just a
slight humming from outside the window but rather a huge “BBbBBBBbBBBBbBBBBBB
(this is my loud generator sound)”.
It is crazy….and in spite of that this is also the only church I know in
the whole country that meets EVERY NIGHT!
Can you imagine meeting every night? So last time we tried to stop in to visit this beautiful
family who is made up of the mother, father, and their five children…they were
not there. Our second attempt
ended up being successful! They
were so excited, as they have been waiting for our visit for over a month. It was one of the best visits we had,
in Trio with the Garcia family.

After leaving trio the following night at 8pm, we arrived in
Belmopan again were we stayed in the “babies room” of the Nazarene church one
last time. We had to have Pastor
Maganya come over to meet us at like 11pm, but he is just so sweet and was happy
to do it. Then it happened…I went
to the car to get something and I locked my keys in the trunk. So you are probably thinking, it will
be ok because there is a spare.
Well that was in the trunk as well. After about a hour of trying to get the car open and
failing, we slid a chair in front of the church door (because also locked the
keys to the church in the trunk as well).
The next morning sweet Pastor Maganya came to the church at 6am as we
proceeded to try to use everything in the world to try to get the car door
open. We that man is a genius
because he GOT IT! Praise the
Lord, because we had a very important meet that we could not be late for in the
city. We made it just in time and
was able to meet Pastor Crawford to work out some more details for the
conference.
After finishing up our meeting we started our journey to
Corozal. Now please remember that
our goal is to visit with all different churches of different denominations,
which include churches we don’t know.
So it is a normal experience for us to randomly see a church and start
asking around for a pastor or leader of the church. After hearing that there was this one road we should go down
because there are a few villages down that way, we were on it! Now as we traveled this road, it was a
little tricky because it was a very old road and it was not paved. We were blessed to meet with a couple
people along the way, but it took us 3 hours to get to the end of the road and
we could only drive 5 mph!!!!!! We
cannot even begin to tell you how awful this road was. We at one point saw a scorpion cross
the road because we were driving so slowly.
Now because we have been doing this so often, the Lord has
drastically been increasing our faith.
So we are to the point where it might be 7pm and we have no idea where
we are going to sleep that night but we know that the Lord is going to
provide. So thinking we were going to reach the
other side of this road like 2 hours ago, we started realizing we were needing
to start thinking about where we were going to sleep because it was pitch black
outside. So God lead us to a
church of a 7th day Adventist Pastor, who we had never met before
and he randomly let us sleep in his church! And the best part was that there was a sweet woman and her
husband who lived next store who let us bathe at their house the following day
and we were blessed to be able to spend a few hours learning all about their
lives. God is just so sweet and so
intentional.
We continued traveling North and met many more Pastors and
even attended a Nazarene Country wide Assembly. So all the Nazarene Pastors from the entire country were in
this one building! We came during
their lunch break and there was the sweetest Pastor who was so excited about
the conference, and he took us around to so many Pastors to share with them about
this conference. Once again God is
so kind, haha we did not even have to say anything because he was so excited
and was telling everyone for us! Haha
Now our last visit was one of the sweetest ones for me. When I first came to Belize about 8 years
ago, I had visited 2 churches during the time that I was here. I helped lead a Vacation Bible School
in a village called Maskall and in a village called Biscane. The very last meeting we had was with
the Pastor from Biscane, who I have not seen in 8 years. It was such a blessing that so ironic
that the very last meeting we had was with the very first church I had ever
been to, 8 years ago. Pastor
Tillett was so sweet and so encouraging and prayed for us before we left.
Sorry this is SO LONG! Bless you all who are still
reading! So then this week we
moved into our house. We decided
that since we are not traveling around anymore, it would be wise to get a place
to stay. There is a family who was
so kind and offered to pay the rent for me! God has blessed me so much and it brings me to tears just
thinking about it. I realize that
I really do not know anything, and when I start to think I do…I need to
reposition myself because I truly NEED to live out of a place of humility. We cannot wait for our team to come
starting next week to help us prepare for the conference! We trust the Lord still with every
detail, which includes finances.
We met with our cook today and talked about the menu and the details of
how it is going to all work. Then
we started talking about when we need to get her the money by and she said the
Monday before the conference. We
said ok, we would let the Lord know because as far as we know…we still have a
bank account of ZERO for the conference.
But that is part of it, we trust the Lord that the money is going to
come through, just like at 7pm we trust that He is going to show us a place we
can sleep.

We are starting to get calls letting us know of people who
are coming, and we are getting so excited thinking about what the Lord is up
to!

open opportunities up for us to maybe to start a Bible study. As we have been meeting with people we
just keep hearing about how people want to learn how to study the Bible! It is so great!!!! Thank you everyone
